In this study, we are trying to understand the aspects of consciousness and its importance by analyzing the various research reports published on the topic. Consciousness has been a topic of debate between various scholars and scientists for many years. We know that our mind works with the help of electrical and physical connections between 100 billion of neurons, perhaps neurons are the smallest known biological part of our brain. Our brain mainly consists of these neurons connected by diverse ways to form different parts of our brain like hippocampus, cerebellum, frontal cortex, cerebral cortex, amygdale and many more.
These different parts of our brain function in different ways like hippocampus form some major parts of the limbic system of human brain and is useful in memory development and spatial navigation, cerebral cortex is useful in memory, attention, thought, language, and consciousness. Even though we can say that consciousness means awareness of oneself and the environment, still there is some debate about the real meaning of consciousness. If this is the real definition of consciousness then a single cell amoeba to a large blue whale, all of them are conscious, but this is not true. Here, in this analysis, we would try to understand the real meaning of consciousness for a human being.
